First PGA TOUR winner to be born in 2000’s
Tom Kim opened play in the Wyndham Championship last Thursday with a quad. A good ol’ fashioned snowman. That’ll wake you up.
Seventy-two holes later he hoisted a big ass trophy and showed the world that a quad on the 1st hole isn’t a death wish, a nail in the coffin, the end of days.
Tom’s gut gumption. And he’s really, really good; currently ranked 21st in the world. “Take that you dirty snowman!” said Tom, right after he pocketed $1.3M on Sunday.
Sunday afternoon he turned in 27, -8. Now that is a big-boy front nine right there folks.
The field may have lacked star power, but that doesn’t mean that there wasn’t some amazing golf being played. Or, that there wasn’t any stressful golf working its way through the field. You see, the Wyndham was the final qualifying tourney for the FedEx Cup Playoffs and storylines, good and bad, were flying around the course this weekend.
Now we’re on to the playoffs. Time to bring the PGA TOUR stars back out. At least the ones not suing the TOUR. Some of those guys may show up anyway. Let’s see what the courts say on Tuesday. AWKWARD!
