When J.T. Poston was congratulated last night by his club and ball manufacturer he wasn’t confused the least by which company had reached out. Unlike nearly all of his peers, Poston has a single brand in his bag, Titleist.
Woods? Titleist. Hyrbid? Titleist. Irons? Titleist. Balls? Yep, Titleist ProV1x.
Key takeaways from Poston’s gear setup:
- Driver, GT3, has a pretty standard setup for tour pros. The one call out is that his shaft is on the lighter side. Poston isn’t going to win an arm wrestling contest anytime soon and sits in 155th place for driving distance on tour.
- You can buy his 6-year-old 3-wood and hybrid (TS2) models at a great price online if you go hunting. Poston’s bound to have a bag of back-ups in his garage tour bag.
- He plays with 4 utility. A 3 utility seems to be more popular on tour nowadays, but is superfluous for Poston’s set up considering he is playing with a 3-hybrid.
- Wedges, Vokey SM10 – 46, 50, 56 (bent to 55) and 60. Clean.
- His Scotty Golo 5 tour prototype putter just looks like any ball stroked with it will drop into into the glorious hole. Pure looking. And Poston’s stroke matches up nicely.
