Bryson shares two very important tips for hitting out of thick greenside rough

Bryson is a certified genius. He is widely considered among the most intellectually curious and analytically minded golfers on the PGA Tour. He has a degree in physics from Southern Methodist University and is known for applying scientific principles to nearly every aspect of his game, earning him the nickname “The Scientist.”

In the quick tip video below, he shows us how to hit successful shots out of toughy, roughy lies around the green. And his first tip, the most important one of all — Don’t hit it here. Genius. I’m writing that one down.

As best we all will try, each of us will hit it into the spinach around the green many times over, and you better be ready to hit a successful pitch out of it. We can attest to Bryson’s preferred technique featured in the video. Give it a try.

Practice. Practice. And practice more. It’s the only way you’ll perfect this simple approach to pitching out of thick rough around the green with confidence under pressure.
