PGA Professional Maiya Puterbaugh shares a few simple set-up tips to help amateurs with their short game. We’ve add a couple of additional tips just for good measure.
To pitch it like a pro:
- Set up with your shoulders aligned to the horizon.
- Tilt from your waist and let your arms hang naturally.
- Make sure to turn through the shot. Even on short pitches your upper body needs to turn back and through. Swing thought: Your belly button should point toward your target after impact.
- Soft hands. The harder you grip it, the greater the likelihood you’re going to belly skull that bad boy!
- Use the bounce of the club. Practice making consistent ground contact. Your sand and lob wedges are made with extra sole bounce to help you pitch the ball into the air. What is bounce? Learn here.
