Winners, Losers & Payouts from the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship

Justin Rose didn’t just win the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship—he basically turned the last five holes and playoff against J.J. Spaun into a fireworks show. It made for great TV – perfect TV, unless you are a huge fan of Tommy “So, So Close” Fleetwood, which we are.

Three strokes down with five to play? No problem. The 45-year-old cranked out six birdies in his final eight holes (including playoff pressure), including a four-pack from holes 14 to 17. That’s not just good golf—that’s “should I check this guy’s birth certificate?” golf.

Then came the playoff against J.J. Spaun. Both traded birdies early, but on the third extra hole, Rose buried a 14-footer, fist-pumped, and walked off with the trophy… and a very respectable $3.6 million.

Spaun didn’t leave broke—he banked $2.16 million for second. Scottie Scheffler and So, So Close split third and each took home $1.16 million, which, last I checked, still buys more than a few Pro V1s and a golf course condo in PS.

Rose called it part of his “Indian Summer,” but really, it was a master class in clutch golf. And considering he nearly won the 2025 Masters earlier this year, this latest check might just be a down payment on an even bigger comeback tour.

In the end, Rose proved two things: 1) At 45, Rose still drains his fair share of snakes, and 2) if you’re going to win, win the kind of event where you make serious $$$.

Rose has now won $73,167,517 on the PGA Tour. After this weekend’s heroics, he landed in 4th place on the all-time money list, jumping Vijay Singh and Jim Furyk. I’ll bet my house he’ll never catch Tiger & Rory, but he’s not done earning for his family. Not even close.

Winners & Losers from Sunday in Memphis:

Loser: Tommy. So, so close, once again. His nervy bogey on 17 did him in. If he makes par, he lands in the playoff. Darn it!

Winner: Rickie Fowler. He made some clutch putts coming in that ensured his entry into every Signature event in ’26. No need for sponsor exemptions next year. Good for Rickie. His game is coming around. And he’s still young enough to win a few more times on tour, maybe even a PGA or Open Championship.

Loser: Collin Morikawa. He limped home over the weekend, firing 72-71, 3-over. He dropped 12 spots on the leaderboard just on Sunday. For a guy who still needs to prove himself to secure a Captain’s pick for the US Ryder Cup squad, he can’t afford to poop himself this week in the BMW.

Loser: Wyndham Clark. Sunday was a big day for Wyndham. Had his game shown up and he closed with a five or 6-under final round, he would have had a great chance to finish top 50 in the FedEx Cup point list, earn a ticket into the BMW this week, a spot in every Signature event in ’26, and even possibly consideration for a Captain’s pick to join the US Ryder Cup squad. But, he dropped his pants and limped in with a 5-over 75.

Winner: JT. Thomas closed with a 5-under 65 and jumped 20 spots on the leaderboard into T-28 position. He earned much-needed Ryder Cup points and surely secured his spot on the squad that will do their best to fend off the Euros at Bethpage.
