Lauren Coughlin, Andrew Novak clinch Grant Thornton team title

– by Beth Ann Nichols / Golfweek

Per Beth: Andrew Novak joked early in the week that he was in gunning for what some are calling the modern-day grand slam. After winning the PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic earlier this year with partner Ben Griffin, Novak racked up a second team title at the Grant Thornton Invitational.

B&B POV: Andrew Novak and Lauren Coughlin teamed up this weekend to win the Thornton Invitational, one of our favorite PGA TOUR-sanctioned events. Hey LIV, this is team golf that works! We’d love to see this event expanded—field size and purse—and give out cup points to the top finishing teams, heck, even OWGR points. Let’s go all in!

Why did Pebble Beach Co. spend nearly $14 million for a tear-down home? We have an idea

– by Adam Schupak / Golfweek

Per Adam: “Will Pebble Beach Co. follow in the footsteps of the R&A with The Old Course at St. Andrews, site of the 2027 British Open, and add length to Pebble Beach Golf Links for future U.S. Opens? …”

B&B POV: This will be fun to follow. I can see both #2 and #3 lengthened, with the tee box on #3 possibly moving across the road or the road being rerouted to accommodate adding length to the current tee box, similar to what Augusta did with the iconic #13th hole.
