Michael Brennan earns third PGA Tour win in 33rd career start with one-shot victory at Baycurrent Classic

Per Associated Press / PGA TOUR: “Michael Brennan won the Baycurrent Classic on Sunday for his second victory of the season and third on the PGA Tour, parring the final six holes for a 3-under 68 and a one-stroke margin over Jacob Bridgeman and Keith Mitchell.”

B&B POV: This season, Brennan averaged 327.0 yards off the tee, good enough for 3rd place on the tour. Yesterday, he closed out the tourney hitting 15 of 15 fairways and 55 of 60—a 91.7% clip—for the week.

Hey, kids: Would you like to win on the PGA TOUR? Do as Brennan does. Bomb it. Right down Main Street.

As Jon Rahm exits LIV Golf, the PGA Tour’s big unanswered question takes center stage

Per Josh Schrock / GOLF: “Xander Schauffele knows it’s a big deal in the grand scheme of professional golf. But he also isn’t one to spend too much time focusing on things outside his control. So when Jon Rahm’s attorneys announced earlier this week that the two-time major winner wouldn’t take part in LIV Golf 2.0 because he found the terms “unacceptable,” Schauffele didn’t think much of it. Golf’s civil conflict has ended, and those who left the PGA Tour for large sums of guaranteed money will now be looking for new homes.”

B&B POV: Would we love to see Rahm play in every PGA TOUR Signature event on the schedule next year? Absolutely. Would it be fair to all the members who didn’t flee to LIV if he did? Not at all.

What do you all think of this 5-point plan for Rahm’s immediate return to the PGA TOUR next season?

He has to exude humility and acceptance

He makes a $10 million donation

No Signature events in 2027 unless he qualifies through the AON pathway (or whatever it’s called next season). This would have been Koepka’s route to playing in the big tourneys if he had played better this season

No end-of-season bonuses, and no Tour Championship

He has to play the Challenger-level series of events in ’28 – no Championship-level events

Bomber Michael Brennan Won the Baycurrent Classic With a Fairway-First Plan: Recap and Top 10 Payouts

Per Chris Lohman / Balls & Bogeys: Michael Brennan arrived in Japan for his first professional visit to Asia and left with his third PGA Tour title—and a week’s worth of unusually tidy tee shots.

The 24-year-old closed with a 3-under 68 at Yokohama Country Club to finish at 16-under 268, one stroke clear of Keith Mitchell and Jacob Bridgeman. It was Brennan’s second win of 2026 and his second victory in his last five starts.

Before we get to Sunday, here’s the stat that explains a lot of the week: Brennan hit 55 of 60 fairways—91.7 percent, the best driving-accuracy mark in the field. He found every fairway in both the second and fourth rounds. That’s a lot of center-cut golf.

Baycurrent Payouts:

1 – Michael Brennan, -16, $1,440,000

T2 – Jacob Bridgeman, -15, $704,000

T2 – Keith Mitchell, -15, $704,000

Michael Brennan WITB: 2026 Baycurrent Classic

And apparently, what works is a whole lot of Titleist.

DP World Tour won’t allow LIV Golf players to join in 2027, preventing Ryder Cup eligibility, per report

Per Patrick McDonald / CBS Sports: “The DP World Tour will not allow golfers who participate in LIV Golf 2.0 to join its league during the 2027 season, according to BBC Sport. The decision comes five weeks before players must commit to the European circuit ahead of a year in which participation will dictate eligibility for the Ryder Cup.”

B&B POV: Stars Tyrrell Hatton and Joaquin Niemann, among others, need to decide where they will play professional golf next season. To no surprise to us, the DP World Tour told LIV’rs this AM, “it’s either us or them, but you can’t diddle with us both.”

The biggest player who still hasn’t committed to his future is Bryson. He’s an enigma, to say the least, and whatever choice he makes will not surprise us, except if it includes contrition toward the PGA TOUR, which he sued on his way out of the league.
