BDR has a new nickname: Pitch Perfect Rickie!

Hitting consistent, solid pitch shots, especially those that need to travel 50-75 feet in the air take practice to pull off.

In the short video below starring Rickie Fowler, which we came across on Twitter X while looking for silly golf memes, he shares two tips to hit solid “strikes.”

  1. Maintain your weight distribution throughout the short swing (don’t rock)
  2. Keep more weight on your front foot, which will help you maintain the distribution and give you confidence you won’t break any ankles with skull shots

The number one tip we would add is to make sure that you naturally rotate your upper torso back and through while maintaining a quiet trunk. This will also help you hit crisper pitches and give you confidence while engaging the bounce on your sand or lob wedge.

Watch. Practice. And take your new and improved technique out on the course.
