Bryson says hitting a draw is not hard. We agree. Mostly.

Most average to below-average golfers play with a fade or slice. That can be fixed in several ways. Some are more complex than others. Here are our easiest-to-implement (and understand) tips to confidently produce right-to-left (for righties) shots.

(NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO PRACTICE A TON FOR ANY OF THESE TIPS TO WORK FOR YOU AND YOUR GAME. PUTTING IN THE WORK ON THE RANGE WILL LEAD TO YOU COMFORTABLY PULLING OFF A DRAW ON THE COURSE.)

Tips and Swing Thoughts to Trial:

  1. Feel like you stay behind the ball on your through swing with the club face moving around your body. (See Bryson’s video below.)
  2. Visualize hitting a golf ball off of homeplate on a baseball field. You want the ball to fly over the 2nd baseman’s head while you rotate your right forearm over your left which will impart right-to-left spin.
  3. Play the ball further back in your stance, aim a little right, and make sure your clubface faces left of your target at address. Lighten your grip, and through impact, release the clubface. (This will take lots of practice to feel comfortable. But when it does, WOOT!)

Now, go to work. Fix your banana.
