Scottie shares his method for reading slopy greens

He may not have the reputation of being the best putter on the PGA TOUR — even though he’s unquestionably the best overall player in the game — but Scottie Scheffler is a far better putter than most fans give him credit for, especially on fast, sloping greens that make everyone else look uncomfortable.

Yes, he drives the ball like a golfing deity, fires absolute lasers from inside 200 yards, and might have the best touch around the greens we’ve seen since vintage Phil. But players don’t win at the rate Big Scheff does without pouring in difficult putt after difficult putt when it matters most.

And here’s the part people overlook: because Scheffler hits more greens in regulation than almost anyone else, he’s often putting from longer distances. That means his lag putting has to be elite — and it is. Time and again, he leaves himself stress-free tap-ins while others are grinding over knee-knockers.

Watch this short video enough times that his rhythm and technique start to sneak into your own pre-shot/pre-stroke routine. Then head out to the course and start draining a few snakes of your own.
