One of our favorite PGA Tour Champions studs is Paddy Harrington. He’s won twice this year on the senior circuit and just finished T-22 against the world’s best at the Open Championship at Troon. Pretty good for a 52 year-old.
Over the years he’s won a bunch of tourneys across the globe including six PGA Tour events and three majors — two Open Championships (2007, 2008) and a PGA Championship (2008).
Great putters win big events. And he’s a proven winner.
His core tips to hole high-pressure putts?
- Feel the pace with your practice strokes. Emphasis on feel. Take a deep breath, let it out, and FEEL…
- Don’t keep the putter still. Let it bounce while you’re getting ready to start your stroke — he does.
- Stick with a single thought during your stroke. One. “Let’s make this!”
- Establish a rhythm that works for your mentality and confidence level.
