PAYDAY! 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Prize Money Payout

We have no idea if Jaegar and his family yesterday feasted on the obligatory ham and scalloped potatoes Easter meal. What we do know is that he was the only person on the planet who pocketed $1.64M for winning the hotly contested PGA TOUR Houston Open. His gaze all day, steely. His nerves all day, unfaltering. His wallet walking off of the 18th green, fat with cash.

What a way to celebrate Easter with his young family — with his first PGA TOUR victory. Staring down World #1 Scottie Scheffler along the way. This was one holiday he’ll never forget and for good reason.

Scheffler came up just short, missing a 5-footer on 18 to send Jaeger back to the tee for a mano a mano sudden death playoff. Scheff’s a proven closer. Finishing 2nd in Houston–especially the way he did–with the short miss had to sting. To ease the pain, his deposit (minus taxes of course) equaled what the four other runner-ups took home – $553,735. Not a bad week’s earnings. For his last three PGA TOUR starts (two wins and a T-2) Scheffler made just over 9 million dollars. To put those earnings in perspective, that’s more than two-time major winners Curtis Strange and Ben Crenshaw won in their entire hall-of-fame careers.
