The 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational Winners & Losers

If LIV has taught us anything, it’s win when the big money is on the line. Russell Henley is back in the winner’s circle—for the 5th time on tour—and he didn’t just win, he straight-up snatched the Arnold Palmer Invitational trophy out of Collin Morikawa’s hands like my dog eating scraps at the dinner table.

Trailing late on Sunday, Henley pulled off the golf equivalent of a mic drop, holing out a ridiculous chip for eagle on the 16th to flip the script from one down to one up. Two clutch pars later, it was game over. Morikawa shot even par, but Henley played like a man who had a flight to catch—with a $4 million carry-on.

Henley stuck to his plan all week. Bunt it and find it, fairways and greens. And rolled it on the greens like God himself set his putter into his supple hands.

That fat paycheck launches his career earnings to a ridiculous $37,473,215, cracking the top 40 on the PGA Tour’s all-time money list. Not bad for a guy.

Winners & Losers from Sunday’s Final Round at Bay Hill:

  1. Winner: Captain Bradley. Keegan woke up with a fever and lit fire to Bay Hill’s front nine posting a 7-under, 29. He birdied 10 and sat at 8-under for the day and was making a Herculean charge up the leaderboard. He coasted in and posted a 64, finishing the event 7-under, T-5. Good for an $800k payday. This year’s Ryder Cup captain has moved into 15th position in the points race and may just qualify for his own team.
  2. Winner: Denny McCarthy shot the 2nd lowest round of the day Sunday, a 5-under 67 and leapt 15 spots up the leaderboard. He finished solo 18th, good for $309k.
  3. Loser: Jason Day lost three shots to par down the stretch, including a nasty double on the gettable par-5 16th. Had he kept his shi* together and finished the final 3 holes in even par, he would have finished T-4 and pocketed an additional $400k or so.
  4. Loser: Wyndham Clark. Through 36 holes Wyndham was kicking arse, but his weekend play was dismal, posting a pedestrian 6-over par, 150. He was headed to a million dollar plus payday but eventually finished T-22.
  5. Loser: Andrew Novak’s surreal bogey-free Saturday included seven birdies and put him in position to earn a big paycheck Sunday. All he had to do was post an average final round score. Instead, Novak finished up with a 78, dropping him 27 places on the leaderboard. Ouch.
