The 2025 Truist Championship Payouts: Winners & Losers

Like his barber, it’s probably time we all started taking Sepp Straka a lot more seriously.

Sure, no one’s exactly overlooking a guy ranked 9th in the world—but Straka just pushed his game to a new level with a two-shot win at the $20 million Truist Championship in Flourtown, Pa. On Sunday, he closed with a steady two-under 68 at the historic Philadelphia Cricket Club, outlasting his Ryder Cup teammate Shane Lowry to snag his second win of the season. That puts him in some pretty elite company—only he and Rory McIlroy have multiple PGA Tour wins this year.

Born in Austria but raised in Georgia, Straka finished the week at 16-under 264, earning a cool $3.6 million and taking down one of the strongest fields of the year in this sixth signature event.

Yesterday marked Straka’s fourth career win, all of them coming in the past three years, and it’s starting to feel like he’s just getting warmed up.

As for Lowry, don’t shed too many tears. Despite bogeying two of his final three holes to slip into a tie for second, the ever-jovial Irishman still walked away with $1.8 million, sharing runner-up honors with golf’s resident spark plug, JT.

Winners & Losers from the final round at the Philadelphia Cricket Club:

  • Winners: JT and Andrew Novak. They followed up their recent tour victories with strong showings in Philly. JT finished T-2, and Novak, a relative unknown on tour before this season, finished T-17, jumping 29 spots on the leaderboard Sunday. JT is going to auto-qualify for the Ryder Cup. And we think Andrew, a relative unknown member of the tour as recent as a couple of months ago, will play his way into a captain’s pick spot. If you don’t know why these two guys are tied together in this callout, you’ve already forgotten that JT bested Novak two weeks ago in a playoff at the RBC Heritage.
  • Winner: Cam Young. He’s had a putrid year on tour. But this week, he played tough and finished T-7, thanks to a stellar final round of 4-under 66.
  • Loser: Keith Mitchell. After blistering the Cricket Club with a course record 61 on Thursday, Mitchell limped home this weekend with a pair of one-over 71s to finish T-7 alongside Stephan Jaegar, Young, and Mr. Rory McIlroy.
  • Loser: Hideki. His week was up and down. Literally. After firing a stellar 65 on Thursday, he posted 72 on Friday. Then, after posting a fiery 63 on Saturday to jump into one of the final pairings Sunday, he closed with a 73. Weird week for the Japanese superstar. At least he birdied his final hole, which, had Lowry pulled off the same feat, he would have headed back to the 18th tee for the sudden-death playoff with Straka that never materialized.
  • Winner: The course. Philadelphia Cricket Club held up admirably against the best players on the PGA TOUR (sans Scottie), filling in for Quail Hollow who will be hosting this week’s PGA Championship. PCCGC is a beautiful layout which the boys will not soon forget.
