Follow Jackie Riegle’s advice to hit crisper shots and lower your score

Jackie Riegle, PGA, is a top California-based coach and Director of Player Development at Monarch Beach Golf Links. She knows the golf swing inside and out—and has a knack for explaining it so the rest of us can follow along.

Her lesson for us today: small setup tweaks can lead to better ball striking and more confidence on the course.

In this week’s Monday Mulligan, Monarch’s heralded instruction video series, Jackie keeps it simple:

  • Keep your shoulders neutral and level with the ground, paying attention to your lie (uphill, level, downhill)
  • Your hands need to work together with the right hand naturally further down the shaft (for righties)
  • Minimize your forward press. The butt of the grip should be pointing at your zipper (our words :))
