A quick review of Matt McCarty’s set up from his Black Desert Classic winning bag tells us three clear stories: 1/ He’s a lefty. Love it. 2/ His biggest endorsement contract is signed by some big wig from Ping. 3/ He’s only one of two players on tour who plays a TaylorMade TP5 ball.
Since this summer Matt’s won four tourneys. He isn’t (shouldn’t) messing with his set up anytime soon. Check out this short video of him talking about his gear. Very cool.
Since he’s paid by Ping to play Ping gear we can’t read too much into why his bag is 100% Ping versus mostly Ping. However, most equipment deals are for 10 or 12 clubs and not all 14. Rarely if ever do we see bags with only a single brand. We’ll see how his set up changes with future WITB features.
