Rahm’s bag set-up only had a few changes from what he teed it up with (and won with!) at the American Express a month or so ago.
Biggest change: He switched out his utility/driving iron and put in a new Paradym Triple D 5-wood. This made a whole lot of sense. Riv is tight off the tee and has three reachable par 5’s. It’s the perfect course to insert a high-lofted fairway metal into the bag.
Whereas PGA West (and the accompanying courses played in the AmEx) are better suited to keeping the ball down and running, and that’s what you’ll get with a souped-up 2-iron that Rahm hits like a sniper rifle.
The only other change of note with his bag is the shaft in his 3-wood. All of the guys on Tour are tinkerers. And tinkerering is what Jon is doing with the shafts in his fairway woods.
