WITB Winner’s Bag: Nick Taylor, 2025 Sony Open in Hawaii

Nick Taylor, world #29 and a Titlelist man was victorious yesterday in the Sony Open. His gear set-up is comprised of 11 shiny Titleist clubs and three TaylorMade beauties. With T & T both releasing new equipment in ’25, surprisingly, Taylor doesn’t have any of the new goods in his bag yet like some of his peers. Heck, he’s playing with some oldies but goodies. We’ll be keeping an eye on his WITB this season to see if and when he drops in the newest AI-powered golf gear.

Key WITB takeaways:

  1. Taylor’s tour stats are average across the board. He’s not great or terrible with any facet of his game. But, if he were to brag, he’d focus on his five tour wins to date and that he hits fairways at a clip better than most. However, he bunts the ball off of the tee with his older model driver. Average on tour can pay the bills when making PGA TOUR $$$.
  2. His TM SIM2 4/5 wood is the oldest club in his bag; it was first released to the public in early ’21. This fairway metal continues to be one of the most popular on tour, even with new equipment releases passing it by.
  3. He carries a 21-degree Titleist TSR2 hybrid instead of a 3-iron. And he nuts it. Good choice by Taylor.
  4. Vokey wedges. Smart man.
  5. TaylorMade Spider Tour Red putter. His putter was on fire at Waialae last week and looked the part with a matte red finish.
