WITB Winner’s Bag: Scottie Scheffler, 2023 WM Phoenix Open

This may be the first time in ‘23 that you’re reading up on Scheff’s WITB set-up, but won’t be the last. He’s just too good to only win once this calendar year. Bet on it.

Now on to his gear. He’s a TaylorMade staffer but doesn’t play their ball, preferring to tee it up with a Pro V1. That’s not too out of the norm. He’s probably been playing Titleist since birth.

But we do find it interesting that he’s playing a Srixon utility iron and 4-iron. You’d think TaylorMade would be able to fit him into something that works just as well or build him something custom.

And, then there is his wedge set-up. His gap, sand and lob wedges are all 2-yr old SM8 Vokey models. Considering guys on Tour are known to change out their wedges monthly (some more frequently than that), his stash must be BIG. I’m sure the Titleist tour team — with permanent grins — are happy to oblige his wedge needs.
