Yesterday marked the first major of the year for Team Titleist thanks to Wyndham Clark’s stellar play. However, Clark did manage to also slip in a TM Stealth 2 3-wood, and a very special Odyssey putter. For those keeping track, Callaway conquered the Masters (Rahm), a free-agent hodgepodge bag lifted the Big-A Trophy at the PGA (Koepka), and now Titleist and Clark can stake claim to winning the US Open at LACC.
Key takeaways:
- If you watched any of the action this weekend on TV, then you already know that Wyndham played with Rickie recently back home in FL and fell in love with his putter. So much so that he contacted Odyssey, who neither player endorses, and had them build him an exact replica — model, elongated shaft length, grip, swing weight. Rickie watched Wyndham beat him at his own game Sunday, literally.
- Wyndham plays with only the finest of wedges in the game today – Vokey SM9. Why does anyone ever play anything else?
- His current driver head is no longer available online at titleist.com, but is through major golf retailers and resellers.
- He hit his zuped-up 3-iron/driving iron all week long when most of the other players in the field were playing with 5-woods and 7-woods. And he hit it goooood.
