Min Woo Lee confidently bombs his way to 2025 Houston Open title, first PGA Tour win
– by Cameron Jourdan / Golfweek
Per Cam: “Only 15 days ago, Min Woo Lee teed off in the third round of the Players Championship holding a share of the lead. It was the second time in three years he had been in contention at the PGA Tour’s marquee event, but this time was his first round in contention as a member…”
B&B POV: It was only a matter of time before Min Woo Lee won on the PGA TOUR. Like Tommy Fleetwood, the other “best to have never won on tour” contender, Woo drives it and rolls it like a major winner. With the Aussie’s sweet victory in the Houston Open yesterday, he can now play even freer, or as he likes to say, “let him cook!”

Gary Woodland records best PGA Tour finish since return from brain surgery at Houston Open
– by Cameron Jourdan / Golfweek
Per Cam: “What a week it was for Gary Woodland in Houston.
The 40-year-old returned to the PGA Tour after having brain surgery 18 months ago, and Sunday at the 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open, he tied a course record with an 8-under 62 at Memorial Park Golf Course to finish at 19 under for the week…”
B&B POV: If you’re an ardent fan of past US Open champion Gary Woodland or you watched the most recent season of Full Swing on Netflix, then you know Woodland had serious brain surgery less than two years ago. Yesterday, he fired a final-round 62 that included a tap-in on 18 to finish T-2, tied with world #1 Scottie Scheffler and one shot back of the Chef. We couldn’t be happier for the Woodland family and more impressed with Gary’s perseverance. Awesome.

What’s in the Bag: Min Woo Lee, 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open
– by Thomas Hamden / Balls & Bogeys
Per Thomas: Since this is Min Woo Lee’s maiden PGA TOUR victory, we are dissecting his WITB setup for the first time. And what do we see? Right away, three things stand out: 1. He’s a Callaway man. His bag deliciously reeks of some of Callaway’s newest gear; 2. In a contradictory fashion, most of his Callaway irons were first rolled out to the public before he could even grow his pencil-thin stache; 3. He’s squeezed two SM10 Vokey wedges into his 14-tool set. Of course, he did. He’s a winner.

The 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open Winners & Losers
– by Thomas Hamden / Balls & Bogeys
Per Thomas: Min Woo Lee isn’t old enough to be haunted by past failures (26), like the pedestrian 151 he fired over the weekend at the Players a couple of weeks back while in contention. But golf doesn’t care about your résumé, and what seemed like a breezy Sunday stroll yesterday for Lee quickly turned into an uphill battle. His five-shot lead? Poof—gone. Suddenly, he was fending off Scottie Scheffler’s heater and Gary Woodland’s surefire Full Swing Season 4 comeback. However, even a loosey-goosey back nine on Sunday couldn’t hold him back. In the end, on Sunday, Lee won his first PGA TOUR title and a little cheese to go off and cook with – $1,710,000 to be exact.

These Augusta National Golf Club-themed backyards will get you ready for the Masters
– by Todd Kelly / Golfweek
Per Todd: “Jim Nantz is well-known for recreating some of golf’s most famous holes in his backyard. He re-did the 13th of Augusta National at his home in Nashville.
His home at Pebble Beach had a mini-version of the famous par-3 seventh hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
There are some other cool Augusta National recreations in backyards across the country…”
B&B POV: It pays to be rich. No, seriously, when it comes to nerding out with golf, it definitely pays to have f-you wealth to build out a Sim room or landscape your backyard like a kid in an ANGC-themed candy store. Wouldn’t it be fun to be Richy Rich, at least for a day.
Jim Nantz knows what we are talking about.
