Second-year Callaway staffer Kevin Yu won the Sanderson Farms Championship yesterday along with a cool $1.368 million and a fancy chicken-topped trophy. Tasty.

Unlike his feathery trophy, his winning bag set-up wasn’t too crazy. Let’s dissect.

Callaway might have been caught off guard with the gear Yu played with to win. After reviewing his tour staff profile online, most of what he was playing wasn’t featured. Maybe after reading this article someone in marketing will jump on that and update the page.

Our key takeaways:

1. His lone fairway wood – Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max – had 16.5 degrees of loft. That falls closer to 4-wood loft than 3-wood loft. Maybe he like have more playability with a higher-lofted fairway metal.   
2. Like many of his PGA TOUR peers, he tees it up with a Srixon ZX Mk II Utility. It’s a proven fairway finder for the pros looking to fly a utility in the 235-245 range.
3. His wedge set-up is unlike any that we’ve seen this year. Four wedges, three models:
   1. Callaway Jaws Raw PW and Sandy (higher lofted than average)
   2. Callaway Opus Gap
   3. Vokey SM10 Lobber
4. For only $500, you too can play with his Ai-On Milled putter. Now, if we could throw in an extra G to get a pro to putt it for us, then COUNT US IN!
5. Chrome Tour X ball. We wonder if any pro on tour would use a Callaway ball if they weren’t paid to play it. We like the ball. But pros tend to reach for one of Titleist’s most popular models.
