Reitan wins first PGA Tour title and Snedeker wins for first time in almost 8 years
Per The AP / yahoo! sports: “Norway’s Kristoffer Reitan shot 2-under 69 on Sunday to earn a two-shot win over Rickie Fowler and Nicolai Hojgaard at the Truist Championship for his first victory on the PGA Tour. Reitan, who won twice previously on the European Tour, finished at 15-under 269 and secured his spot in the Masters next year.
Brandt Snedeker poured in the birdies on the back nine and closed with a 5-under 66 to win the Myrtle Beach Classic on Sunday for his first PGA Tour title in nearly eight years, earning a surprising spot in the PGA Championship…”
B&B POV: There has been recent talk of the PGA TOUR schedule reducing the number of events, starting as early as the 2027 season. Yesterday was an example of just how many events the tour operates.
In Charlotte, N.C., Kristoffer Reitan won a Signature event and $3.6 million; in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Brandt Snedeker (YES!) won for the first time in 8 years in an opposite field event. One weekend, two events, two winners, and more than a dozen near misses from stars and journeymen. That’s a lot to keep track of and report on. If the tour schedule shrinks, opposite-field events may become a thing of the past.

Brandt Snedeker snaps 8-year winless streak at Oneflight Myrtle Beach Classic
Per Todd Kelly / Golfweek: “It’s been nearly eight years, but Brandt Snedeker is a winner once again. Snedeker shot a final-round 5-under 66 at the Oneflight Myrtle Beach Classic to come from down three shots down at the start of the day to win his 10th title on the PGA Tour…”
B&B POV: Like Keegan Bradley before him, 2026 Presidents Cup captain Brandt Snedeker won on tour before leading Team USA internationally. He’s probably not penciling himself into the lineup this September — but hey, captains enjoy individual trophies too. Congrats to one of the nicest guys on tour, who fought through years of adversity to win his 10th tour title!

Winners, Losers, and Payouts: 2026 Truist Championship
Per Thomas Hamden / Balls & Bogeys: The PGA TOUR arrived at Quail Hollow Club last week for the 2026 Truist Championship, which always guarantees a few things: towering drives, elite ball-striking, and at least one contender emotionally unraveling on the Green Mile.
This year delivered all of that — plus a surprise champion nobody outside of Norway predicted.
Norway’s Kristoffer Reitan outdueled a loaded leaderboard yesterday to capture his first PGA TOUR victory at 15-under par, earning $3.6 million from the tournament’s massive $20 million purse…

What’s in the Bag: Kristoffer Reitan’s Winning Setup – 2026 Edition
Per Thomas Hamden / Balls & Bogeys: Kristoffer Reitan didn’t just make his family proud with his victory in the 2026 Truist Championship. In winning the tournament, he also made Ping, his sole club manufacturer and sponsor, very happy.
The Norwegian’s setup is a perfect example of modern TOUR gear: forgiving, high-lofted fairway woods instead of utility clubs and hybrids, 4-9 iron sets, and a bag that features four wedges for versatility when hitting from the “aim for the pin” zone. Everything in the bag is designed to tighten dispersion, control spin, and eliminate costly misses…

2026 PGA Championship odds: Scottie Scheffler leads favorites on complete list of 156 players
Per Robby Kalland / CBS Sports: “The 2026 PGA Championship is upon us as 156 players arrive at Aronimink Golf Club just outside Philadelphia to battle it out for the Wanamaker Trophy. Leading the field into Aronimink is last year’s PGA champion, Scottie Scheffler, who will look to become just the third player to go back-to-back at the PGA of America’s most notable event…”
B&B POV: It takes a brave gambler not to pick at least one of the top 3 favorites to win the Wanamaker Trophy this week at Aronimink. Because he prefers hitting a high fade off the tee over a draw, unlike Rory (17-2) and red-hot Cam Young (12-1), who both prefer draws, we’re going with the big Texan and a few others down the chart to win: Fleetwood (22-1), Reed (66-1), and Spaun (66-1). It’s Majors season…let’s goooo!
