Bryson, walk-off winner and singles domination: How Team USA won Walker Cup

– by Josh Schrock / GOLF

Per Josh: “The 2025 Walker Cup at Cypress Point gave golf fans a look at one of the most prestigious courses in the world. While the famed course along the Monterey Peninsula was the lead character at this week’s showdown between America and Great Britain & Ireland, the golf eventually outshined the host…”

B&B POV: Watching golf’s most prestigious amateur team competition this weekend didn’t disappoint. The course, majestic. The play, phenomenal. The US squad, unstoppable, especially Sunday afternoon during Singles. Just getting a chance to see Cypress Point’s most heralded holes (15-17) was worth the watch. Congrats to Team USA and the young guns who hopefully showed the US Ryder Cup squad how to win the big one on home soil with the pressure turned all the way up.

Watch all the amazing reactions to Rory McIlroy’s 72nd hole eagle at the Irish Open

– by Jay Coffin / Golf Digest

Per Jay: “Rory McIlroy captured the career Grand Slam at the Masters back in April, joining only five other men in the history of the game to accomplish the feat…”

B&B POV: “Rory! Rory! Rory!” was heard throughout Ireland Sunday as world #2 drained an enormous snake on his final hole in regulation, eventually going on to win the Irish Open on the 3rd sudden death playoff hole against Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren(?!?). For Rory McIlroy, this was an excellent tune-up for the Ryder Cup, which will be played in two weeks at Bethpage on US soil.

What’s in the Bag (WITB) Presented by Worldwide Golf: Tommy Fleetwood, 2025 Tour Championship

– by Thomas Hamden / Balls & Bogeys

Per Thomas: For golf Gear Heads, peeks into the bags of the world’s best, and corresponding WITB articles, are better than a double pour of 18-year Macallan. We turn our attention this week to Rory McIlroy’s bespoke setup, which the Northern Irishman used to win his fourth title of the year, the Amgen Irish Open at the K Club.

Charley Hull looks healthy as she shines in Houston, but can’t catch Spaniard for title

– by Tim Schmitt / Golfweek

Per Tim: “Although she’s a member of the Ladies European Tour, Spaniard Nuria Iturrioz has had her share of shining moments on this side of the pond…”

B&B POV: Charley Hull looked extremely healthy, but couldn’t pull off victory this weekend at the Aramco Houston Championship. She lost out to Nuria Iturrioz by two shots, but coming off injury, she played some great golf.

For those of you who have never spent a week in Houston in early September, let alone while playing under pressure in a professional tournament, know this: It’s hotter than hot, and sweatier than a Baltimore Ravens locker room after a crippling loss this time of year. Congrats to everyone who teed it up in the name of LPGA glory!

Breaking down 2025 Ryder Cup teams: Europe’s experience will be tested against United States’ home course edge

– by Patrick McDonald / CBS Sports

Per Patrick: “The teams are set, the golf course is undergoing its finally preparations, and the calendar has flipped to the month of September meaning only a few weeks remain before the 2025 Ryder Cup commences at Bethpage Black. Slated for Sept. 26-28, the biennial event between the United States and Europe is expected to be a highly competitive contest as each team brings its own strengths (and weaknesses) to Long Island, New York…”

B&B POV: No Sergio. No Captain America. No sh!t.

Our sleeper picks to rack up points for their respective squads: Russell Henley, US, and Robert MacIntyre, Europe. Neither will be expected to star, but both will. They’re world-class talents coming off of very strong seasons.

‘Best coach in the world shares anti-chunk secret to hitting solid chips’

Taking a lesson from Mark Blackburn will cost you more than $1,000. But, for any of you who routinely chunk your chip shots, we recommend getting on a plane, flying to Alabama, and fanning out 10 Franklins to have him watch you take chipshots for an hour.
