All golfers, when working to improve even a single shot or technique, overcomplicate things. Why? Because we are all “big brains,” whether we deserve the moniker or not.
The quickest way to improvement is to focus on a tip or two and grind away on the practice tee or green. Once we’ve created positive muscle memory we can quiet our big brains and let good technique take over.
Eric “Eloh” Lohman, PGA GM at Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, CA, shares with us in the video below three simple techniques that, when implemented and practiced, lead to repeatable, consistent, positive pitch shot results. Woot!
Secret Sauce:
- Slightly open your body and clubface (opening up your clubface will help engage the bounce)
- Please 60% of your weight on your front foot (foot closest to the target)
- Swing back and through, focusing on your target
